It's Been Awhile

So, I guess it's time to fill us all in again on what we've been up to. There is so much I don't know how to choose what to tell, but here we go.

Kassidy had her first dance recital a couple weeks ago and she was so excited, and did very well. You can't expect a whole lot from 3-4 year olds, but it was good. It is also crazy to watch an hour and a half of other kids dancing to finally get to your kid, who only dance for about 2 minutes. We are also learning a ton of words and sounds of letters with Kassi. She's really excited about that as well, so, so far it's been an easy task for her to keep motivated. She LOVES to show "daddy" when he comes home, all that she's learned that day.

Kevin, well, Kevin is a handful these days. I have decided to give up going to the store with both kids, unless absolutely necessary, not strictly because they are bad, but Kevin insist on walking if Kassi is. Riding in the big part of the basket if Kassi is. And most of the time he can't make up his mind which one he'd rather do so it stresses me out and therefore, no store with kids. Kevin is starting to learn shapes by name. He has been matching them for a little while now, but he hasn't known their names. He's loving Thomas Tank and Monkeys...and still Scooby Doo. I think he's going to be one jealous kid when the new baby comes. YIKES!

Steve has been so busy it's insane. He doesn't leave too early in the morning, but he has been getting home around 7 p.m. at night. This means that he's missed dinner and the kids are either in bed or bathing before bed. The kids and I miss him so much! However, SOC is doing some restructuring, and so the longer hours and busyness is supposed to change for him.

I am just trying to keep up at the moment. I have so many things I want to accomplish and I can't seem to get the time for each that is required. I want to sew more Flurr blankets for new babies. I want to play with my Cricut software. I'd really rather not clean our shower, however, I think I may have to at some point. I really want to go running, but that's really going to have to wait. (6 mo. Pregnant here!) I want to do my scrapbooking group again, but I barely see Steve as it is, so I just can't justify it. I want to find more books I'd like to read. So, there you have it. That's us. Our successess, our wants...what else is there?

We are blessed though! Steve and I have seen it sewn deep into our lives, especially this past year. We have a wonderful neighborhood, and excellent family, friends who love us and not to mention Steve new job. We are grateful for each other and I'm glad our family is that way.

KIDS!!

I am overwhelmed lately at the challenges our kids put before me. It's amazing how much they protest at the things that don't really matter. We have all had some good time outs lately; I am included in that. But a new day seems to solve a lot. We are better now and we are grateful for dad! (steve)

On a better note, we are moving along with Kassi's school. She's learning a lot and I am thankful that her school is an LDS based preschool. I don't always do the best job of incorporating the gospel during the week; so this is good for her! Kevin is not missing her quite as much while she's gone. I think he's catching on that he can choose what to do when she's not here. And he likes it.

Steve's busy season is upon us. For some strange reason, the Christmas/Holiday Season gets people in the mood to send cards. And that is what the company he works for does, so to work he goes. He's a good worker. I'm so thankful for him and everything he does inside and out of the home!!

I have slowed down on my personal card making. I have lent myself out to my friends to help them with their projects. It's nice when you can help others. It's one of my favorite things to do and I wish all of the time there were opportunities to do more of it. I saw my grandma Stayner last week and gave her the cards I made for her and she was so excited by the gift. I love seeing people smile!

Happy Holidays to you!

No Applause Necessary...

So, today I decided that I have been sloughing my duties as house-keeper long enough. I have so far done the dishes, scrubbed the sink, taken all my scrapbook stuff back downstairs, (it's put away down there too), I vacuumed up and down, my room and Kev's room is clean, bathroom is half way done and I have about 5 bags of trash from the basement trash room. If you have ever been to my house you'd understand that one! But it's all picked up now and it's only noon. I should not get any additional praise because these are my daily duties...but I feel good they are done.

The kids are eating chicken dino's, pretzels and carrots for lunch today. Kevin likes ketchup and Kassi prefers Ranch on her chicken. Kevin dips anything in dip and eats it happily most of the time. The trick for him is to just make sure he has some kind of dip and he'll eat. I am dreading the hot dog I'm going to eat. I swear I don't really like them, but that's all that sounds good lately. BLAH!

Steve is coming home for the mid-day section of today. He has to go back to work tonight so he'll be here for a bit so I don't go crazy. He's out of town again this weekend to Scottsdale, AZ. Last trip of the year I hope.

I have been making cards for the grandparents for Christmas. Not for part of a gift, that is the present...cards. I have about 100 of them and I feel confident I'm done. But who knows? I could make them forever, I enjoy that so much! Well, off I go. I now have somewhere around 4-5 loads of laundry left too. If I continue of the productive coarse I will prevail and complete my shtuff.

Let's Get Started

I have never been a blogger; although I do like to journal...so I'm going to try a hand at this I suppose. First thing, most important: The Kids
Kassidy is four and cannot possibly wait more than "seven-three-fourteen" more days to turn five. She is already had it with pre-school and would just assume going into kindergarten. Who knows maybe it will be that easy to get her off into public schooling. If she only know what the next 12 years would bring her. Or is it 13?

Kevin is a firm 20 months now, coming close to 21. He's so helpful yet so incredible distructive at the same time. He appears to be the nicest little boy away from Kassidy, but around her, he's such a torment. Kassidy takes it ok, if you don't mind the screaming on both of their parts. He'll grow out of this right?

And third...little baby to be. Due May 9th is still giving me the nausea any time I think of eating. So, it goes though right...not much can be done about it now. I'm excited. I keep thinking of names and the veto-ing them before I tell them to Steve because he would do that for me anyway.

Steve is awesome! He has had a wonderful set of parents that have taught him so well. He is always so willing to get me whatever it is that I need and he's considerate, adoring (even when I try to bite his fingers) and he's the most amazing dad. I can't complain when some of the girls I know complain about their significant others. I love that guy!

Nadia, the dog. She's not up to much. Although, the other day she decided she'd make a run for Mutton Hollow Road; which probably doesn't mean much to you, but it's about a mile north of where we live. I never would have looked that far and luckily some amazing young lady called us and held Nadia until we could get her. Silly girl!

I'm sure I'll think of more later. I'll also have to get some more pics!
